DESCRIPTION

The objective of the AQUACOSM research infrastructure is to strengthen EU network of mesocosm facilities and promote joint research initiatives, capacity building and standardisation. Extensive Transnational Access to at least 37 different sites or installations at 18 selected leading and highly complementary European mesocosm facilities Geographic range from the Arctic to the Mediterranean. Unique infrastructures in catchments from mountains to lowlands; rivers, ponds, lakes, estuaries and the sea.



AQUACOSM offers Transnational Access to at least 37 different sites or installations at 18 selected leading and highly complementary European mesocosm facilities. Ranging from the Sub-Arctic to the Mediterranean, from mountains to lowlands, estuarine to fully marine systems, and spanning from ultra-oligotrophic to hyper-eutrophic conditions, they represent a cross section of typical European aquatic ecosystems.
